FOR THE RECORD
THE MOST RECORD BREAKING MUSICAL IN THE WORLD
This comedic musical revue can justifiably be described as the most record-breaking show ever staged. And that’s because it playfully pays tribute to (and lovingly lampoons) record breakers and their diverse passions, proficiencies and peculiarities. From the fastest talker to the loudest snorer, and from the highest-pitched voice to the lowest-hanging beard, the songs wittily depict a kaleidoscope of unique individuals boasting surprising skills, curious collections, bizarre body modifications and death-defying diets – and reveal the motivations, struggles and rewards that inspire, accompany and arise from their endeavours.
For The Record recently premiered at the Crazy Coqs at Zedel, the striking art deco live music venue in Piccadilly, London, where Alexander's I Wish My Life Were Like A Musical originally premiered prior to going on to enjoy its many subsequent international productions to date. This debut staging boasted a cast comprising West End stars Lizzie Bea (Sister Mary Robert in Sister Act, Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray), Dean John-Wilson (Ryota Watari in Your Lie In April, Lun Tha in The King And I, Aladdin in Aladdin), Simon-Anthony Rhoden (Aaron Burr in Hamilton, Lola in Kinky Boots), and Helen Woolf (Glinda in Wicked).
